HCC'S academic support programs: mentoring and academic planning

HCC offers special programs that specifically meet the different needs of our students:

Parent Scholars Program

The Parent Scholars Program (formerly Career Links) is designed to assist HCC students who are low-income single parents or displaced homemakers to experience college success. The Parent Scholars Program staff works one-on-one with students to identify and access the resources necessary for academic, career, and employment success. This service is intended to assist qualified students to better meet their personal, family, and work obligations, while pursuing academic and career goals.

To obtain more information on the Parent Scholars Program and/or to schedule an initial interview with a counselor, please complete the Program Application Request Form.

Howard P.R.I.D.E

You can learn more on the Howard P.R.I.D.E website. Applications will be accepted through a brief online interest form. Once completed, students will be contacted to set up an intake meeting.

Veterans' Affairs

Veterans’ Affairs staff provide assistance to veterans, active duty military, guard, reservists, and dependents of veterans and active duty military. The Veterans’ Affairs staff works with veterans and their qualified dependents to initiate processes necessary to activate and maintain their benefits.

Veterans Affairs services are administered in the Office of Records and Registration by contacting veteransaffairs@howardcc.edu

Students should contact HCC’s Veterans Affairs prior to coming to campus to ensure that staff is available to assist.
